Chat

Olace's core is the network: your models, reachable from every device you own and any app you point at them. The Olace apps put a ready-made workspace on top, so a freshly paired device is useful in the first minute instead of raising the question "I have remote access, now what?". They cover most of what people reach for AI every day: conversations, files, research, the web, images, voice. Everything below works with local, paired, and cloud models alike.

Attachments

Attach images and documents from the composer: Photos, Camera (mobile), or Files. Text is extracted from images and PDFs on your device, so documents never leave your machine just to be read. Vision-capable models also see attached images directly. Cloud drives such as iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive appear in the Files picker on every device where their app is installed, with no Olace setup and no paired computer needed. With a paired computer, Files on <computer> browses its shared folders and attaches from there; see Files from your computer.

Two separate controls. Web access under Settings › Privacy & Data decides whether the model may search the live web when a question needs current information. It is on by default, applies to every conversation on every device you sign in on, and turning it off keeps every answer to what the model already knows.

Web Search in the composer's tools menu is per message: it puts a search at the front of the turn instead of leaving the choice to the model. It works on local, paired, and cloud models alike, and arming it searches even when Web access is off. On smaller local models it steers the turn to a search rather than guaranteeing one. It clears once the message is sent.

Neither is available in Direct Mode, which runs with no web and no tools at all.

Research

Research runs long investigations across the live web, on any of your models, and produces a cited report. It runs on your local or paired models, or on a cloud model. See Plans & credits for what Research costs on each route.

Create Image

Toggle Create Image to generate images. Pick an aspect ratio, describe the image, and send. Image generation runs on cloud credits, or on your own OpenRouter key with BYOK.

Voice

Under Settings › Voice, turn on voice input and spoken replies. On computers, speech recognition (Moonshine) and speech output (Kokoro) run entirely on your device, downloaded on demand. On phones, dictation is handled by your device's system speech service, the same engine behind the keyboard mic; Apple devices transcribe on-device, and on Android the service may be assisted by its servers (typically Google's) for the best accuracy. Dictation in Direct Mode chats always stays on your device, with a small accuracy tradeoff on Android.

Search your chats

The history drawer has Search chats. It searches titles and full conversation text, with results as in-conversation snippets. The search index lives on your device.

Windows on desktop

On desktop you can open a conversation in its own window and keep several chats side by side. Closing a window never cancels a response in progress; the reply finishes, saves, and syncs.

Deleting chats

Deleting a conversation asks what you mean: delete it from the cloud and all synced devices, or only from this device. Clearing your whole history lives under Settings › Privacy & Data.
