Plans & credits
The core of Olace is free: running models on your own devices, and reaching them from your paired devices, is never metered. The free plan is called Local: everything that runs on your hardware, free, forever. Credits exist only for the cloud, where Olace pays providers on your behalf. Current prices live on the pricing page.
What is always free
- Local AI on your computer, with no account at all if you like.
- Paired AI between your devices, on every plan, from anywhere and not just your home network, over an end to end encrypted connection.
- Chat on your own API keys (BYOK), on every plan, including Local.
Credits
Cloud features are metered in credits, and the cost is shown before you use a metered cloud feature.
Cloud models are grouped into three classes, and a class sets both the chat price and the research price. Classes are how prices stay stable while the models themselves change: when a new open-weight model launches, it joins a class rather than getting a price of its own.

Research on your own model costs less because your computer does the thinking: the credits only cover the web searches Olace pays for on your behalf. A research run that is interrupted after it has already gathered sources costs 40% of its full rate, and a run that gathered nothing costs nothing at all.
The model picker shows each model's class and rate next to its name, and the composer shows what the turn will cost before you send it.
On the Local plan only, a local, paired, or BYOK turn can add at most 1 credit for the whole turn when it uses Olace-paid web search or cloud vision on your behalf. Paid plans include these, so those turns stay at 0.

Unlimited Everyday chat means messages on an Everyday-class model draw no credits at all on Pro and Founders Lifetime. Research, image generation and every other class still draw credits normally.

The Starter Pack is a one-time 100 cloud credits for new Local accounts, valid for 60 days, so you can try cloud features before deciding.
Credit packs are one-time top-ups for Pro and Founders Lifetime: 400 credits for $5, or 1400 credits for $15. Pack credits never expire and sit on top of the credits your plan grants each month. Your monthly credits are always spent first, so a pack is only drawn down once the month's allowance runs out.
Buy a pack wherever you are: in the desktop app under Settings, Billing, on the web at olace.app/buy?pack=credits_small, or, where the mobile apps offer it, inside iOS and Android, with the App Store or Google Play handling the purchase and showing the price in your own currency. The credits land in the same account balance either way, so a pack bought on your phone is spent on your computer.
Trials and billing
Plus has a 14-day free trial, cancel any time. Local and paired AI stay free either way. Manage your subscription in the app under Account, or at olace.app/billing. Subscriptions started in the App Store or Google Play are managed through the store.
If you go over a pairing cap after a downgrade, extra pairings are paused, not deleted; your most recently used pairings stay active, and upgrading reactivates the rest.
